New Season, New Goals. As the wind picks up and the leaves start to fall, it prompts you to take a step back and think. Where has the summer gone? Have I achieved my goals that I have set? Is it time to re-look at my goals and re-align them? Thereís no better time than a change in the season (and weather!) to have a moment to think about your achievements and prioritise what you would like to achieve going forward. Whether itís a work goal or a personal goal, make sure itís realistic and write it down.

In other news, the main focus for GO! at the moment is Paediatric First Aid. We have been travelling the North West delivering 3 hour Baby & Child Choking and CPR sessions to parents, parents-to-be, guardians, grandparents, aunties, uncles and anyone who is responsible for the care of babies and children. Babies and small children are most at risk from choking because they examine things around them by putting them in their mouths. There is a lot of media attention on this subject at the moment with some great information videos. We think it is great that this valuable information is out there but think nothing replaces the experience of what it feels like to deliver these life-saving methods. From training, questions such as how do I hold them? Will I hurt them? Am I doing this right? What ifÖ? Are answered. Itís amazing how many parents have that same fear of ĎI donít know what to do if my child was chokingí and it feels amazing knowing that we change that to ĎI feel confident and know what to doí. If you would like to book on to one of our courses, check out our Facebook page for all our latest events and email us to book your place. Donít leave it too late.

Oh by the way we are going on Salford City Radio 94.4 FM on the 19th October @ 4PM, we will be talking about our Paediatric First Aid, Springboard and other hot topics. Listen in if you get the chance.

Letís keep with the theme of GOALS this month. Goal setting is much more than simply saying you want something to happen. Just like dropping hints at Christmas, unless you clearly say exactly what you want and understand why you want it the first place, you're likely to be feeling disappointed. By following our Top Five Tips for Goals you can set goals with confidence and enjoy the satisfaction that comes along with knowing you achieved what you set out to do.

1. Set Goals that Motivate You

2. Set SMART Goals (Specific, Measureable, Achievable, Relevant, Time bound.)

3. Set Goals in Writing

4. Make an Action Plan

5. Stick With It!

Remember, goal setting is an ongoing activity and not set in stone. Set yourself a reminder to re-assess your goals and make sure that they are working for you. As life changes, so do our goals. Just the simple changing of the season can be your prompt to take another look.

So, what will you decide to achieve today?
